lets say yes to life and layer bold tile please! this garden is all about the angles, but I guess they all are, after all most of the spaces we work with are pretty straightforward rectangles, we like to spin them around, get asymmetrical, create different vantage points and dimension… with this space we created a boardwalk from the second floor stairs to the cedar tub; the stairs double as seating, the platform next to the tub as a lounging pad. groundcover and succulents like Kalanchoe (my fave) and a low growing Grevillea grow up between the tile to soften and lush the hardscape, an Olive provides a delicate screen around the spa.
